Postal Strike June 2011 - What You Need to Know

SUMMARY:

All insurance documents are mailed to clients from Echelon General Insurance at this point. Therefore, depending on the length and extent of the postal strike, documents such as renewal offers and confirmations of changes to motorcycle insurance policies could be delayed. Here are some points to be aware of, keeping in mind that we will continue to update you on any important developments.

Don't put anything in the mail until the postal strike has been settled. This should seem obvious, but it's important to note that if a payment is late "because it's in the mail" it is still due at the time that it was due before the strike started.

Payment can be faxed or emailed to Riders Plus. Each broker at Riders Plus has a personal fax number, and they will provide you with that number at the time you speak to them about your outstanding payments. This hasn't changed.

If the strike goes on for a prolonged period, we will advise you of any changes to how your documents are delivered to you. The actual renewals and policy changes are printed off site and mailed directly, so a change to delivering via email will require a significant change for Echelon. We will keep you informed on this website and in future articles.

Call Riders Plus to see how to handle your specific renewal or outstanding payment from Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, at 1-877-251-4504.
